Prayer

Father, increase my faith. Help me to believe Your promises even when my circumstances tell a different story.

Today's Encouragement

Faith isn’t believing God can. It’s believing God will do what’s best. Faith isn’t pretending problems don’t exist. Faith sees the mountain but believes God is bigger. The men of Israel looked at Goliath, saw his size, and concluded they couldn’t win. David looked at the same giant, but instead of comparing Goliath to himself, he compared Goliath’s size to the greatness of God. David knew that with God on his side, he could not lose. Many times, we think faith means never asking questions or never struggling. But faith isn’t the absence of fear. Nor does faith mean understanding everything that’s going on. Faith is choosing to obey God anyway. It’s taking a step forward even when you don’t understand and may be a little apprehensive. Peter stepped out of the boat while the storm was still raging. Joshua marched around Jericho before the walls fell. The woman with the issue of blood reached out to Jesus before she saw her healing. Real faith acts because it believes God’s Word is more dependable than our circumstances (James 2:26). You may not know what tomorrow holds, but you know who holds tomorrow. You may not see the answer yet, but you can trust the One who does. That’s faith.
